K. Radha and Prashanthi E. were chosen from our school to attend a session on “Advancing Child Safety in India” conducted by The Times of India, in association with Underwriters Laboratories, at The Times NIE Teachers’ Meet, on 04/02/2020, at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The session began with a briefing of the highlights of The Times NIE Program, which was launched with the notion of inculcating the habit of reading newspapers among students across the nation. Safety Club Programs are also being introduced in schools across India. The objective of the Program is to educate students about the safety measures and precautions to be followed in school, at home, and in public places, and the first aid measures that will be useful in the event of an emergency such as a fire, drowning, etc.
