8th INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA - 21 June 2022
Day 1
KENNEDY HIGH the global school started the celebration on 10 June 2022 with the Principal and 120 teachers participating in a Yoga session led by the school Yoga teacher. After warming up for 5 minutes with stretches and using breathing techniques (PRANAYAM – Anulom - Vilom), 7 different asanas involving standing and sitting poses were done by the group. This included Tadasana,Thiriyax Tadasana, Butterfly asana, Trikonasana, Badakonasana and Uppavistakonasana, ending with Savasana to cool down.
Day 2
On 15 June 2022, Senior Secondary students took out a rally on “YOG SE NIROG” accompanied by senior teachers to spread awareness on the benefits of Yoga.
Day 3
16 June 2022 was chock full of activities related to Yoga.
a. IX & X participated in mass Surya namaskar and other Yogasanas. After 5 minutes of meditation and Pranayama, the students went through three repetitions of Suryanamaskara. Then they followed the instructor and did 10 more asanas which were Tadasana, Parshva Tadasana, Trikonasana, Virbhadrasana, Prasarita Padotanasana, Butterfly pose, Badakonasana, Paschimottasana, Ushtasana, ending with Savasana.
b. Students of VI-VIII, rendered a melodious song based on “AKAM”, along with the music teachers.
c. Class VI-IX students crafted Paper bags and used Yoga poses to decorate the paper bags.
Day 4
A Painting and Poster Making competition was held on 17 June 2022 for students of class VI-IX.
Day 5
Videos on different yogasanas were shown in the class.
Day 6
20 June 2022, saw Class VIII performing their “Nukkad Natak”on yoga with aplomb. A PPT on “Benefits of Yoga” was shown to all the classes.
Day 7
21 June 2022, 8th International Day of Yoga saw a flurry of activities.
a. It started with the enthusiastic participation in a 30 minutes yoga session for students of class VIII-X.
b. It was followed by a slogan writing competition and essay writing competition.
The celebrations ended on a high note with a short quiz competition on Yoga.
