Celebrating the 76th Independence Day
KENNEDY HIGH the global school embarked on the journey of celebrating 75 years of completion of Independence of our country, by participating in various activities and competitions under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, starting in August 2021. This year long Mahotsav is culminating this month, in August 2022.
To celebrate the 76th Independence Day, the school hoisted the National Flag in its premises with immense pride, on 10 August 2022 as part of Har Ghar Tiranga initiative of Government of India. A painting competition and an essay writing competition was also held on 11 August 2022. Information regarding “Har Ghar Tiranga”, “Selfie with Tiranga competition” and “Har Ghar Tiranga Quiz competition” was shared with all the stakeholders and evoked a lot of enthusiastic participation.
On 15 August 2022, excited students poured in to celebrate the completion of 75 years of Independence, despite the inclement weather. The school looked festive with wonderful Rangoli in tri colour, festoons and fragrance of fresh flowers everywhere.
The festivities started with the hoisting of the National flag by the Chief guest, Sri. S. Jamala Reddy, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by everyone present, with heartfelt emotion. A speech by the Chairman came next, who applauded the students’ for their patience, perseverance and love for the motherland. He entreated the students to be vigilant about their duties and responsibilities and blessed them. Principal, Ms. Rajyalaxmi Bhat shared her words of wisdom and expressed happiness at seeing the students, eagerly waiting to participate and witness the grand celebration.
The cultural extravaganza started with a patriotic song and was followed by a series of mesmerizing dances, soulful patriotic songs, speeches by students and melodious instrumental music, arousing patriotic feelings in all. It was a joyous and thrilling experience for both the performers and the audience, as such a memorable event could be staged physically, after a gap of 2 years.
The memory of this special day is etched forever, in the hearts and minds of those who were present to witness it.
